Arteche Pushes Food Sustainability thru the One Barangay, One Gulay Program

April 26, 2024Announcement One Barangay, one Gulay is flagship program created in 2018 by the Local Governemnt Unit of Arteche inspired by FAITH (Food Always In The Home) Program by OIKOS Community. This aims to ensure food sustainability and augment the income of the marginalized families in the community. This involves all twenty (20) Barangays of Arteche, each has a unique produce which ensures marketability of each vegetable in the local market. The Office of the Municipal Agricultural Services leads the implementation of the program with the support of the Department of Agriculture. To encourgae active participation, an incentive is given to the family with the most produce sold in three (3) months gets 1 sack of rice and the next five (5) families gets a grocery pack. Simple as it may sound, this is not just an additional income but also ensures that every family has food on their tables.
