The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) formally turned over the Halfway Home and Water Refilling Station to the Local Government Unit of Arteche in a ceremonial event attended by DILG PD Engr. Jesus Jeremy Bagares, Mayor Susan Evardone, DILG personnel and LGU officials and stakeholders.

The facility was funded under the Seal of Good Local Governance – Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF), following Arteche’s recognition as an SGLG awardee, highlighting the municipality’s adherence to good governance standards set by the DILG.

Led by the newly appointed DILG Provincial Director of Eastern Samar, Director Bagares, the turnover underscored the national government’s support in strengthening Arteche’s disaster preparedness and response mechanisms. The Halfway Home will serve as a temporary shelter for pregnant mothers fron far flung Barangays while waiting for their delivery a day before, while the Water Refilling Station will ensure access to safe and potable water, especially during emergencies and disaster situations.
